Ruth entered the New Year without a New Year’s resolution. Her hopes and aspirations of the year before had not even been halfway accomplished. She was bitter and disappointed – not the best way to start the New Year, right?

But she was determined to get a resolution that would cover her past year’s ambition as well as the coming year’s ambition. She provoked her mind with the thought that she could hardly keep up with, but nothing she thought of satisfied her enough.

Exhausted, she cleared her head of everything, settling on not making a resolution for the New Year. Then she heard a voice say, “God is Enough”

Maybe, the reason why Ruth did not accomplish her ambitions was because she was not focused enough. Maybe she got side-tracked along the way. Maybe she lost sight of what was truly important. But God is enough.

God is enough to satisfy our needs and cravings. God is enough reason to accept hard times and strive for better. God is enough comfort when everything seems to go wrong. God is enough resolution as we enter an unknown future.

God is enough and there is enough of God for everyone.
